Render (RNDR) will change the way you edit videos

November 27, 2024

First of all, Render or RNDR is an ERC-20 token used to pay for creating animations, motion graphics, and visual effects (VFX) on the Render Network. The Render Network is a system that uses decentralized GPUs to make rendering faster and cheaper.

The network has three main parts:

  1. Creators: People who need GPU power to render their projects.
  2. Node Operators: People who rent out their unused GPUs to help with rendering.
  3. OctaneRender: The software that powers the rendering process.

With the Render Network, creators can complete their work faster and at a lower cost. Node operators earn RNDR tokens as payment for providing their GPU power to the network

Their mission is to democratise high-end GPU rendering and compute, as mentioned on their website.

They imagine a future where creativity isn’t limited by local computer power. A future where artists can use the power of a global, decentralised network to bring any 3D idea to life. The Render Network makes this vision a reality, helping everyone explore new possibilities in computer graphics, immersive media, and spatial computing.

Effectively making hollywood production level GPU functionality available to the masses. Very cool.

They are constantly upgrading their platform as initially their core infrastructure was built on Ethereum but now it’s on Solana. (another win for the SOL bulls)

Their team is public and have achieved amazing things outside of RNDR as well, some notable names being:

  • Jules Urbach the Founder
  • JJ Abrams the CEO @ Bad Robot Productions
  • Mike Winkelmann from Beeple
  • Many More

I see RNDR having a really positive future and massive impact on the way we interact with video and create content, which in today’s content economy could change the landscape of everything we know online completely.

Definitely one to hold on to this coming year.
